基本介绍
RIKEN was established in 1917, and is the largest and most comprehensive research institution for applied and basic research in Japan. The Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research (BDR) is the largest research center under RIKEN, with 73 laboratories and two collaboration centers situated at the RIKEN campuses in Kobe, Osaka and Yokohama, as well as a site in Hiroshima. BDR was established in 2018 through the merger of three former life science research centers within RIKEN—Center for Developmental Biology, Quantitative Biology Center, and Center for Life Science Technologies. Now, by leveraging molecular biology- and computer science- inspired interdisciplinary science and the access to state-of-the-art facilities at hand, the RIKEN BDR is pursuing the answers to development and aging processes—life's biggest mysteries—and addressing issues facing society through our science.
