Position: Lecturer or above in Business Management
Key Duties:
1. Laboratory Planning & Establishment
(1)Needs Analysis & Planning: Work with faculties in the Fundamental Science Department to understand curriculum needs and course syllabi; participate in developing the overall lab layout, functional zoning, and equipment configuration plan.
(2)Equipment Selection & Procurement: Conduct market research for instruments, equipment, and consumables; provide technical parameter analysis, selection recommendations, and assist with the procurement process.
(3)Laboratory Setup: Oversee the laboratory's construction, including utilities, networking, and safety infrastructure (e.g., ventilation, fire safety, emergency equipment) to ensure compliance with safety standards.
(4)Instrument Installation & Calibration: Manage the acceptance, installation, debugging, and calibration of new instruments and equipment; establish initial equipment inventory files.
2. Laboratory Operation & Teaching Support
(1)Daily Management: Manage laboratory scheduling, reservations, and usage records; ensure the lab environment is clean and organized.
(2)Equipment Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of lab equipment; manage the inventory and replenishment of consumables.
(3)Safety Management: Act as the laboratory safety officer; develop and enforce safety protocols; conduct safety training and emergency drills; manage hazardous
materials to ensure a zero-accident safety record.
(4)Teaching Assistance:
◦ Assist faculty in preparing instruments, consumables, and demonstration apparatus before and after lab sessions.
◦ Co-teach experimental physics courses, with a focus on leading the practical instruction and providing timely technical support to resolve equipment issues encountered by students during lab classes.
(5)Practical Instruction:
◦ Under the guidance of faculty, provide embedded instruction to students on proper lab techniques and the correct use of instruments.
◦ Assist in guiding students with course projects, innovation initiatives, or competition-related lab work.
Requirements:
• Education & Background:
◦ Master's degree or higher in Physics, Mechanical Engineering,
Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a
closely related scientific discipline.
◦ Practical experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or
Industrial Engineering is highly preferred.
◦ Prior study experience abroad will be an advantage.
◦ Candidates with an interest or background in Artificial Intelligence
(AI) are highly desired, particularly those enthusiastic about exploring
applications of AI to augment and transform traditional lab work.
• Experience & Skills:
◦ Strong understanding of the principles and apparatus used in general physics experiments (Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Modern Physics).
◦ Strong hands-on ability to independently install, debug, maintain, and
repair common physics lab instruments.
◦ Prior experience in laboratory setup, management, or as a teaching
assistant in a higher education setting is highly desirable.
◦ Familiarity with data acquisition/analysis software such as LabVIEW
or MATLAB is a plus.
